“Bottle”, a stop-motion animation by Kirsten Lepore. Been around a little while but its still utterly enchanting. This is one GREAT short film! Kirsten has crafted something truly magical here, a story with a heart and a soul. OOF.
so yer, we're a tad late getting this event documented. what of it? it's still a work in progress really. The torrent of photo uploads is yet to happen, so far its been a bit of a trickle. But a very creative and entertaining trickle all the same. the remit. a simple one. group of people. 35mm cameras. 35mm film. 1 hour. use all exposures. packed lunch - including boxed fruit juice and monster munch. eat. snap. adventure. explore. capture. keep warm. return. get images developed. upload. share.
so you like the look of it do you? want to see more? click on this bad boy and all will be revealed...
NOT LONG NOW// NOT LONG AT ALL// JUST AROUND THE CORNER... EXCITEMENT IS IN THE AIR. THIS PROMISES TO BE SO BLOODY GREAT I MAY EXPLODE. CHECKED. PREPPED. LIMBERING UP AND STRETCHING. YES.
so yeah more animation... what of it? a possible project on the horizon for P.C in the not too distant future? "PROJECT CLUB - THE MOVIE"??? Aim big thats what I say. in the mean time here's a lovely little one minute short that shows what can be achieved with a bit of time and skill. Totally embracing the wintery vibe and a sort of magical theme.
Project Club is a big fan of the return of Malarky to UK shores and very happy to see his work popping up once more across the north east streets. Here is a little taster of the treat in store on byker bridge after hours...
Tynemouth surf film festival is a 2 day international film fest celebrating all that is, and encompasses surf culture. Whadda treat. Over the weekend a great array of films were shown, but along side this were one off happenings which made the event something truly special... the pop up gallery opening was one such event. featuring the work of a number of project clubbers acting a a great showcase and great neet oot.
okay so this isnt strictly design based but its a great cause and movement.... ITS the beginning of November... HOW is it november already? Yesterday marked the start of the month and the start of a time to get hairy. WIth the first of the month came the start of Movember, an annual month-long event raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer. The idea was born over some beers in Australia, when a group of men decided to bring back the mustache partly as a joke, and partly to raise money for the number one cancer affecting men. Just a few years later, Movember is a global movement which raised over $42 million for prostate cancer research last year alone.
The rules are simple: Register today at Movember.com, shave your face and start growing that 'stache. There are all sorts of tools to help you get started too, including a pocket guide, a free mustache party kit and a list of prizes to help get you motivated.
WOWZERS... The installation Type Case is a low-resolution display with 125 rectangular pixels of different sizes. These are formed from the reflecting light of digitally controlled LEDs, embedded in each section of a European printers’ type case. Due to the standardised fragmentation of its compartments, the density of visual information is decreased towards the objects’ centre. Viewed close by, it is nearly impossible to recognize more than a flicker – however after moving some distance away, it becomes distinguishable, that the lights and shadows give a representation of the latest headlines...
More typefaces than the entire history of working mens club membership cards

Nicola Parkin. One of the first into Project Clubs warm, stale and unwashed bosom... and hopefully last one out. Words cannot describe just how much we trust this pocket rockets creative vision. The 'Project Club' personified. There is little more to say. Just dig a bit deeper HERE
And a private word from the team. Congratulations x
Dictaphone Parcel is an animation based on a sound recorded with a dictaphone travelling secretly inside a parcel. As the hidden recorder travels through the global mail system, from London to Helsinki, it captures the unexpected. We hear a mixture of abstract sounds, various types of transport and even discussions between the mail workers. The animation visualizes this journey by creating an imaginary documentary.
Dictaphone Parcel was awarded the Passion Pictures Prize in London, in February 2010.

David Shrigley launched the first in what is to become a series of works created to raise awareness and encourage people to sign a petition against the proposed 25% cuts in government funding of the arts.
“It has taken 50 years to create a vibrant arts culture in Britain that is the envy of the world. We the undersigned appeal to the government not to slash arts funding and risk destroying this long-term achievement and the social and economic benefits it brings to all.”

With summer drawing to a close (ish) and chunky knits and woolen mits being not too far away now... who's up for a P.C. mini-break?? If one were ever to happen I propose we charter a fleet of these bad boys and hit the road. They are pretty special, right? Added to their already ice cool status the Cricket Trailer was designed by a former NASA architect who worked on the International Space Station... wowzers oh and every Cricket is built to order because "we don’t want to sell you what you don’t want or need". How lovely
AHH found this little treat today, Like many of oh so many of the other the YouTube commenters out there, we think that Cee Lo Green should just stick with this gem rather than go through all the hassle of an official video.
See what happens when you mix flour, water and the irrepressible mind of Miss Lori Kay Casson. Is it a logo? Is it edible? Its a way of life my friends!
DIGGING THIS. Got a spare 12 minutes and 48 seconds? not quite sure what to do with it. ponder no more. Watch this great little film, ‘Up There’, about sign writers.
Very excited to see this exhibition is going on at Analogue Books during the Edinburgh festival. I can’t even begin to imagine how mind blowing all these gems will look in one room. only 9 days left though...
